The upper reaches of the river Bure at Coltshall offer relatively small differences between high/low tides and shelter from excessive winds. The Bure above Wroxham Bridge is well known for it's clear waters, and relatively quiet cruising conditions between Coltishall and Wroxham even in the peak summer season.
We have extensive long term "private owner" moorings situated on the main river (mainly for boats over 25 ft long) with secure oak quay headings and plentiful mooring rings. The landscaped quay headings provide a safe and stable platform for embarking and disembarking. Please note that we do not provide moorings for "Live Aboard" owners.
Permanent moorings for smaller craft are also available in either of the two cuts/dykes located onsite, some with oak quay headings, and some with grass banks.
Many permanent moorings have access to individually metered electricity points allowing the use of mains electric for onboard domestic appliances, lighting and heating.
There are picnic tables and bench style garden seats available for use and liberally spread out around the landscaped moorings offering a choice of picnic spots or places to sit and watch the world go by, or to do some leisurely riverside fishing....
Anchor Moorings offer a quiet, safe, and secure riverside mooring facility in an attractive setting that makes them ideal as a departure point for cruising the picturesque Northern Rivers and Broads, or for using your boat as a static base for exploring North Norfolk generally.
Our long term moorings are very popular and provide excellent value for money. We operate a waiting list when our moorings are fully occupied. Annual mooring fees are based on the length of boat and mooring location (riverside or dyke). Most moorings have access to an individually metered electrical hook up point as an optional extra.
