Anchor Cottage and it's associated moorings are located in the former grounds of the old Anchor Hotel a public house originally established in 1836 by the Coltishall Brewery. The Anchor Hotel was sold and converted into a commercial residence circa 1985.
In 1994, the current owners Lenny and Fran Howard bought Anchor Cottage and the adjoining land and moorings. Since that time they have completed major landscaping works and development to create the peaceful and secluded mooring location that is in evidence today.
The landscaped parkland mooring area has several tables , benches, and shady trees creating an ideal spot for picnics, an area for children to play. Anchor moorings are also an ideal spot for river fishing with plentiful Perch, Roach, Bream and Pike in the vicinity.
We offer opportunities for long term private owner moorings many with metered electrical supply, as well as daytime and overnight visitor mooring. The site has a fresh water point for replenishing boat tanks.
Anchor cottage is on the river Bure just before the popular public mooring at Coltishall Common and offers a quieter more secluded overnight stop over whilst in the vicinity. Coltishall village, the Common, and local pubs, shops and other amenities are just a short walk away.
